Rabbi Avrohom Simmonds was born in Winnipeg, MB. He has studied Talmud, Jewish law and mysticism in Detroit, MI; Israel; Moscow; and the Rabbinical College of America in Morristown, NJ. He was ordained by the late Rabbi Mordechai Eliyahu, Chief Rabbi of Israel.
Rabbi Simmonds has been a beloved teacher, mentor and program director in Jewish schools in Detroit, Montreal and Napierville, QC. With his open and dynamic approach, Rabbi Simmonds has connected to Jews in Germany, Russia, Oregon, Ohio and other places where he interned. He also coordinated the wildly successful Summer Yeshiva of Winnipeg, MB, serving 150 participants yearly.

Shterna Simmonds was born and raised in the heart of the Chabad community of Detroit, MI. A passionate teacher, she studied in the Beit Chana Teachers’ Seminary. She then took her skills to Oklahoma City, OK, where she taught and directed programs at the Chabad Community Center. She spent her summers as a counsellor in Jewish camps in Canada and the U.S.
The Simmonds family share a passion for Judaism, Torah and serving the Jewish community. Together, they are committed to create a Chabad Jewish centre, which will enhance and strengthen the Jewish community of Regina and beyond.

The Chabad centre will serve as an open and inviting bastion of Jewish awareness, scholarship, identity, and celebration. Holiday programs, Shabbat dinners, lectures, and youth activities will be carefully crafted to bring out the best in every individual, regardless of background or level of observance.
